Coyotes

Some people call coyotes coydogs, but NH Fish and Game dept claims that although coyotes can reproduce with domestic dogs it's highly unlikely that the offspring would survive as the male needs to help feed the young and a domestic male dog wouldn't fulfill the role the male coyote does. Also they claim that while Wolf DNA has been verified in coyotes dog DNA has not.

A friend of mine sent me this pic of Tom Dupell's coyote which I'm told he shot in Westmoreland, NH.

This is another coyote someone sent to me on e-mail which happens to be the all time NY state record weighing a whopping 115lbs!

It may be a while yet before I get my first coyote as I have many projects to complete around home and I tend to focus on them rather than go out to hunt coyotes. All in due time I guess... :-)
